Prescription-Drug Costs On the Way Up Again
Prescription-drug costs continue to go up. Over the next 10 years or so, we can expect prescription-drug costs to continue to increase at a rate of about 11 percent a year. That means a prescription that costs $50 today will cost $100 in 2012. Drugs cost more because the manufacturers are raising their prices, doctors are prescribing newer and more expensive drugs, and we are all taking more prescription drugs than ever before.
